Solid Support for My Big Girl's Left Knee

Okay, so I got this dog knee brace for my big girl, Dakota. She's Leopard Catahoula, and her left back leg has been giving her some trouble – vet thinks it's a combination of old injury flare-ups and early arthritis. We've been trying a few things, and a brace was next on the list to give her some extra support. First off, sizing is SO important with these things. Dakota is a big dog, so I went with the 2XL for her left leg after carefully measuring her, and thankfully, it fits really well. It's snug without being overly tight, and the straps are adjustable enough to get a good, secure fit around his upper thigh and lower leg. The material feels durable, not cheap or flimsy, which is good because she's definitely not gentle with her gear. Putting it on takes a minute or two, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty straightforward. The critical part is making sure it's positioned correctly so it actually offers support and doesn't rub or chafe anywhere. Dakota wasn't thrilled at first – I mean, who likes wearing new stuff? – but she tolerated it much better than I expected. After a few short sessions, she seems to have gotten used to it, and mostly ignores it. The real test, of course, is how much it helps. Quality product, might move it to 5 stars is the 2XL fits better. The chart says if between sizes to go smaller and that did not work. Also the straps were super short and did not pull in opposite directions like the instructions say to do when using the Velcro leg parts.
